Alphabet match

The wheel has uppercase letters all the way around and the clothespins have the lowercase letters written on it. Miss. S matched the lowercase letter with the uppercase. She has a hard time with q,d and b hopefully this will help.

Handprint magnets

Isn't this the cutest way to hang kids art work on the fridge?

We got the idea from 'handprint and footprint art'

Homemade laundry soap

I have been making my own laundry soap for a while now. It's super cheap and last for a long time. I used the last of it the other night and needed to make more soon because we all know when you get behind on laundry it takes ages to get caught up again.

This is what you will need..

Arm and hammer super washing soda (bought at Publix), Borax (bought at Taget) and a bar of Ivory soap (Bought at Wal-Mart) I like to use Fels-Naptha soap bar that I buy at Publix but I was out and only had Ivory in the house so that's what I used.

Grate the bar soap into a sauce pan using a cheese grater (I bought one at the dollar store and only use it for making laundry soap)

Add 4 cups of water and boil on stove until soap is melted stirring often.

Now do not walk away and say to yourself "I'll keep and eye on it from the table" because you will end up with this not so nice mess to clean up..

After all the soap is melted get out you 5 gallon bucket (I got mine at lowe's for $3). Fill the bucket half way with hot water.

Add one cup Arm and hammer super washing soda

And 1/2 a cup of Borax

Then dump the melted soap in the bucket

Mix, Mix, Mix, Mix, Mix (I use a wood mixer stick I got for free from lowe's when I bought the bucket)

Then fill the bucket up with hot water the rest of the way and mix it all up a little more.

Put the lid on and let sit over night.

When is has sat over night mix it up then fill your store bought laundry container half full with the homemade laundry soap. Fill the rest of the way with water.

If clothes are really dirty (When are they not when you have a toddler in the house?) I add some oxi-clean to the wash.

I got this recipe from the Duggar family website.

Oh Mondays how I dislike you so!

Monday just needs to disappear and never be seen again! Seems like all my Mondays end with a headache. Sure felt like I was talking more to the walls then 3 kids. Stop touching, No, did you hear me, No, Please stop fussing, No, stop yelling, No, do not run in the house, No, share, No ..... on and on all day long!! I'm wiped out tonight, a Three, two and one year old kicked my butt. Thanks heavens for Seven o'clock bedtime!!!

I could not of been a happier mom tonight when the lights went off and good night was said. I still had much work to do before I could sit down and relax but at least I could rest my head while doing them (Does this sound like a pity me post?..... ah well good because it is).

The laundry is done, dishes are cleaned, toys are picked up and I can finally sit and relax in my ten by eight little world of perfect peace.

So next week we will be renaming Monday because I hate love it so much we need to come up with a pretty little name for it.

Sunday

Sunday is usually a day I get caught up on house work and do all the little things I have been putting off all week. So this Sunday I decided it was time to wash the car seats and clean out the jeep as it was getting pretty full of trash/toys/odd stuff. Since it was such a nice day out (I mean nice!! You could actually sit outside with out sweating.) I thought I could take the two car seat outside with some soap and water and wash them down so they could sun dry.... well my luck kicked in and just as I took the covers off to wash them is started raining, go figure right!

Right after my helper and I got done washing up the car seats it stopped raining.

Something about fresh clean car seats just make me want to go for a road trip!

Oh and I must show you my thrift store find!!! I always go to this same thrift store every Saturday when they open. We find lots of good things. This week I found one of the bags that hang off the seat to hold anything you choose. I paid 10 cents for it. Came home and tossed it in the washer and hung it out to dry and now its good as new!

I put 2 baggies of snacks and little misses sunglasses in one pocket...

A pencil and a pack of wipes in the other little pocket...

On the bottom there is a big pocket in that one I put a diaper for little man (He is a little boy I watch during the day while his mother teaches high school. Little Miss is my one and only child) a change of clothes for little miss, a dvd (free willy), 2 books, paper and some stickers all to keep her entertained if we get caught up waiting somewhere...

Such a great find to keep the stuff that is usually just tossed all over the back seat.
